STP (Sewage Treatment Plant)
To protect the health of community and to supply water that is aesthetically desirable, treatment of sewage is required. Water treatment is a process involving different types of operations (physical, chemical physicochemical and biological), the aim of which is to eliminate and reduce contamination on-desirable characteristics of water. The objective of STP is to extract pollutants, remove toxicants, neutralize coarse particles, and kill pathogens so that quality of discharged water is improved to reach permissible level of water to be discharged into water bodies or for
agricultural land.
Objectives of STP of our Institute is to produce an environmentally safe fluid waste stream (or treated effluent) and a solid waste (or treated sludge) suitable for disposal only, without danger to human health or unacceptable damage to the nature.
