Sh. J.N. Kapur a great social reformer turned Abdullapur village, Yamuna Nagar City into Education Hub by establishing a chain of DAV institutions by collecting donations to spread the literacy among masses
In 1958 Shri Kapur being the true believer of women education for modern India started DAV College For Girls, which was the First college for girls in Yamuna Nagar with only four students. Out of them, two were provided free education. The college which was started in a rented building, now has a strength of around 2500 students, and was also judged as the best Girl’s college of Kurukshetra University. Shri J.N.Kapur pioneered the cultural renaissance in the society for exemplary work done in the field of women education and higher education by setting up DAV College for Girls for women empowerment. Shri JN Kapur was a champion of universal education as he cherished the principle of Right To Education more than six decades ago and provided free education to refugees and poor people when women education was not given due importance in India and literacy rate was around 25 percent.
