Annual Gender Sensitization Action Plan
University Grants Commission (UGC) recommends the measures for ensuring the safety of women and programs for gender sensitization by establishing Women cell in colleges.
The Women cell in DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar, was started with the aim of empowering and orienting women to recognize their true potential and to help them attain their own stand in a competing world. Its goal is the overall development of women in all spheres of their life. It also helps in creating awareness about important issues related to women and provides a forum for discussion and deliberation on a range of issues from empowerment to environment.

To empower women in all spheres of life enabling them to become agents of social and economic change and inculcating ethical values for the betterment of self, family and society.
Mission
To train women to acquire wide range of skills and knowledge, to develop and increase their social, economic and intellectual capacities for peace, security and prosperity of mankind
Objectives
1)To enhance self esteem and self confidence among women students and staff
2)To foster decision making ability
3)To increase awareness of women related social issues, health, employment and gender related matters
4)To realize role of women in building up of a healthy society
5)Sensitize students on serious gender issues
6)Generate awareness of burning social issues for ensuring holistic education of students
7) Educate, empower and devise preventive measures for the prevention of gender bias and sexual harassment of students
8) To impart knowledge on legal rights of women

1) Poster Making Competition in Oct 2021 to encourage girl education.
2) Diwali competitions in Nov 2021, to bring out the creativity in girls.
3) Singing competition to bring out talent in the girls.
4) To Create awareness about cancer on world cancer day ( 4th feb 2022) , by Awareness talk related to Cancer and Awareness about food to avoid cancer
5) To celebrate International day of women and girls in science on 11th Feb 2022
6) To celebrate national Women’s day on 13th Feb 2022
7) To celebrate World Radio Day on 13th Feb 2022, by making aware the role of women in mass media
8) Collage making, Ppt Making, quiz competitions
