Counselling Cell

The Counselling Center (Department of Psychology) of DAV college for Girls provides free of cost counselling services to the students of the college and takes care of the personal, emotional & social needs of the students through group and individual counselling

Adolescent counselling is aimed at young people to help them, make sense of their feelings, behaviors and thoughts and entails the use of unique techniques. It gives students opportunity to explore their feelings and emotions in safe environment and provides a way to deal effectively with it. Over 1500 students have received group counselling services for stress management, a crucial life skill. Career counselling services were provided to a group of 20 students. Students in college and non-students alike received individual career counselling sessions.

From this year one more element has been added into the arena of mental health services which is ‘Meditation Center’. A student’s life can be so stressful. Factors such as homework, social life, perceived parental pressure, university applications, and never-ending workloads all generate stress. A daily meditation practice, even of only 10-20 minutes a day, can reduce stress and increase well-being, improve focus and internal strength.
