Nehru Studies Centre was sanctioned to D.A.V. College For Girls under the 11th plan scheme of EPOCH making social thinkers of India by UGC on 26th March 2008.
to provide teaching, research and learning opportunities for teachers, researchers as well as the students of the college and to examine Nehru’s ideas, their application and impact on Indian and world political development.
Objectives of the centre:
To spread awareness about the ideas of Jawaharlal Nehru and freedom struggle.
It encourages interdisciplinary research among the faculty members, research scholars and students by organizing national seminars, certificate course on Nehru, minor research project.
To organize extension lectures with interactive session for students with experts , quiz competition and other similar activities which helps to build a spirit of scientific enquiry among the students.
The centre further aims to develop democratic spirit and secular values within the college.
